Buffering issues occur when a video loads before playing on your device. This can cause delays when playing content.
Streaming Philo from a mobile device while moving between locations may also result in buffering issues.
Troubleshooting
- Check your internet connection speed to ensure it’s higher than our (Link opens in a new tab)Internet speed recommendations. Visit (Link opens in a new tab)fast.com to determine your internet speed.
- Disconnect any VPNs or ad blockers.
- Play any channel on Philo for one full minute.
- Play a different channel on Philo for another full minute. If only one channel has buffering issues, contact our (Link opens in a new tab)Support team. If multiple channels have buffering issues, disconnect any other devices (like gaming consoles) from your network to free up bandwidth.
- Ensure your network supports streaming content. If you’re using a public Wi-Fi network (like at an airport or school), try connecting to a different network.
- Restart your device.
- Restart your home network by unplugging all network equipment (modem and router) for 30 seconds. Then, plug your network equipment back in, turn on your modem and router, and re-launch Philo.
- Clear your cache following the steps (Link opens in a new tab)here.
- Try watching Philo on a different device. If the buffering issue persists on a different device connected to the same network, it’s most likely a network problem.
If you’re streaming on (Link opens in a new tab)philo.com, try using an incognito window to prevent your browser from saving cookies or cached files that can cause playback delays.
