High-Bandwidth Digital Content Protection, or HDCP, is a digital copy protection technology that creates a secure connection between the source and display to prevent unauthorized copying of audio and video content.
HDCP errors occur when there’s a problem with the physical connection between your streaming device and TV.
Typically, this is easily resolved by reconnecting the HDMI cable:
- Unplug both ends of the HDMI cable.
- Turn off or unplug your TV and streaming device.
- Reconnect both ends of the HDMI cable.
- Turn on or replug power to the TV and streaming device.
If that doesn't do the trick, try using a different HDMI input on your TV, or different HDMI cable.
