If you see a “Player error: Device failure occurred.” message, that indicates an error with our video player. You can typically resolve the issue by following the steps below.

  1. Fully exit and then re-open Philo.

  2. Check for Philo updates by searching for Philo in your device’s app store.

  3. Check for system updates in your device Settings.

  4. Restart your device.

  5. Clear your cache following the steps (Link opens in a new tab)here.

  6. Uninstall and reinstall the Philo app (this step isn’t applicable for Roku-billed customers, as you can’t uninstall any app with an active subscription).
