How to clear the cache on your device

The cache on your device contains temporary files that may cause performance issues.

If Philo is running slow or crashing, you can clear the cache to free up space and allow it to run smoother.

Click your device below for instructions on how to clear your cache.

    1. Go to your device Settings.

    2. Select Apps & Notifications.

    3. Select Manage All Applications.

    4. Find and select Philo.

    5. Select Storage.

    6. Select Clear Cache.

    1. Press the Home button on your Fire TV remote.

    2. Select the Settings icon on the far right of the Home row.

    3. Select Applications.

    4. Select Manage Installed Applications.

    5. Select Philo.

    6. Scroll down and select Clear cache.

    1. Go to your device Settings.

    2. Select Apps & Notifications.

    3. Select See all # apps.

    4. Find and select Philo.

    5. Select Storage & Cache.

    6. Select Clear Cache.

    1. Press the Home button on your Android TV remote.

    2. Select the Settings gear icon in the top-right corner.

    3. Select Apps.

    4. Select See all apps.

    5. Select Philo.

    6. Select Clear cache.

  • Uninstall and reinstall the Philo app.

  • Chrome

    1. Click the three vertical dots in the top-right corner of the browser, and select Settings.

    2. Select Privacy and security.

    3. Select Clear browsing data.

    4. Select Advanced.

    5. Set the time range to All time.

    6. Select the data you’d like to delete.

    7. Click Clear data.

    Edge

    1. Click the three horizontal dots in the top-right corner of the browser, and select Settings.

    2. Click Clear Browsing Data and select Choose what to clear.

    3. Select the data you want to clear.

    4. Scroll down and click Clear.

    Firefox on PC

    1. Click the Menu button and select Options.

    2. Select the Privacy & Security panel.

    3. In the Cached Web Content section, click Clear Now.

    4. Close the page.

    Firefox on Mac

    1. Click the three horizontal lines in the top-right corner of the browser, and select Preferences.

    2. Select the Privacy & Security panel.

    3. In the Cached Web Content section, click Clear Now.

    4. Close the page.

    Safari

    1. Click the Safari dropdown in the top-left corner of the screen, and select Settings.

    2. Click Advanced, and check the box to "Show features for web developers."

    3. Click the Develop dropdown, and then select Empty caches.

    1. Select Settings on your device's home screen.

    2. Select Apps & notifications.

    3. If recently opened, select Google Home, or select See all apps to find the Google Home app.

    4. Select Storage & cache.

    5. Select Clear storage.

    6. Select OK to confirm.

  • Uninstall and reinstall the Philo app.

  • Uninstall and reinstall the Philo app.

  • Press the Home button your Roku remote, and then press the following buttons in order:

    1. Press the Home button five times.

    2. Press the Up button.

    3. Press the Rewind button twice.

    4. Press the Fast forward button twice.

    You’ll know it was successful when the Roku freezes, turns off, and reboots.

  • 2020 models and newer

    1. Press the Home button on your remote.

    2. Scroll to the left and select Menu.

    3. Select Settings, and then select All Settings.

    4. Select Support.

    5. Select Device Care, and then select Manage Storage.

    6. Select Philo, then scroll down to select View Details.

    7. Select Clear Cache.

    2019 models

    1. Press the Settings button on your remote.

    2. Select Self Diagnosis.

    3. Select TV Device Manager, then select Manage Storage.

    4. Select Philo, then scroll down to select View Details.

    5. Select Clear Cache.

    7 Series

    1. Press the Settings button on your remote.

    2. Select Support.

    3. Select Self Diagnosis.

    4. Select TV Device Manager, then select Manage Storage.

    5. Select Philo.

    Q/TL/S models

    1. Press the Settings button on your remote.

    2. Select Broadcasting, and then select Expert Settings.

    3. Select HbbTV Settings and select Clear Browsing Data.

    4. Select Yes to delete cookie data.

    1. Press the Home button on your remote.

    2. Scroll left, then down, and select Settings.

    3. Select All Settings.

    4. Select Admin & Privacy.

    5. Select Reset to Factory Settings.

    6. Select Reset Apps.

    The Reset Apps option isn’t available on legacy V-Silicon models. In order to clear the cache on these models, you’ll need to factory reset your device.
