Audio Description (sometimes referred to as “video description”) is an optional audio track that “narrates” important visual details in a show or movie. For example, Audio Description may describe the facial expressions or physical actions of a character in a show during natural pauses in dialogue. This feature makes video programming more accessible to individuals who are blind or visually impaired.
To enable Audio Description, visit your (Link opens in a new tab)Account Settings page online and click the toggle next to “Use audio descriptions.” This feature is deactivated by default.
When enabled, Audio Description tracks will play on shows or movies that provide this option. Please note, this is different from screen reader technology (which reads out text on the screen so a visually impaired individual can navigate the product). If Audio Description is unavailable, the standard audio track will play.
